A blend of grapes from two plots, one located in Côte Chalonnaise, north of Montagny, the other in south Côte de Beaune

Terroir

Clay-limestone.

Vines

25 to 40 years old vines of Chardonnay. 

Grapes are chilled down to 12°c, direct crushing, no destemming to facilitate flow. 30% vinified in barrel, the rest in vats for 12 days of fermentation.

Systematic malolactic fermentation, in barrels or in vats. Barrel ageing of several wines for 10 months.
Bottled October 2019.

The nose expresses both floral and toasty notes. The oaky touch is slightly present and balances a rich mouth. It is a food friendly wine, balanced between richness and refreshing acidity.

2019 - 2021

Mary Tudor owes her sad nickname of Bloody Mary to the Protestants repression after her accession to the throne of England in 1553. Her late marriage to Philip II of Spain gives her the title of Duchess of Burgundy. First woman to sit on the England throne, her whole life is a fight to impose on the court her person and her power.
